Guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT), HF patients, Diuretics, Heart failureAbstract
Background: Heart failure (HF) is a growing public health challenge in India, associated with high morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. Observational studies from India indicate differences in patient characteristics and etiologies compared to Western populations, including a younger age of onset and the prevalence of rheumatic heart disease. Continuous clinical audits are essential to assess adherence to guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) and improve patient outcomes in local settings. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical profiles, management strategies, and short-term outcomes of patients admitted with HF at a tertiary care center in South India.
