Background: Low-dose ketamine is increasingly used in emergency departments as an opioid-sparing analgesic for acute painful conditions including renal colic. Although transient tachycardia and hypertension are recognized as adverse effects, atrial fibrillation following sub-dissociative ketamine dosing has been infrequently reported.
